Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-13
GayBoard is an anonymous personal-advertisement board. This policy explains exactly what is stored, why, and for how long. We keep only what a board and a private message technically need, we don't require an email, and we don't sell your personal data.
Who operates this site
GayBoard is run by an independent individual as a personal project — it is not a company. For privacy matters write to [email protected]. The operator's identity and hosting details are held privately and are disclosed only in response to valid legal process; because the board is anonymous, most of the data we hold is not attributable to a real-world identity in the first place.
What we collect
- Content you submit. Text of the board advertisement you post — the public board does not display photographs. Any images you send live only in private one-to-one messages and are set to expire after being viewed.
- An approximate area. We derive your country and city from your connection to show you a relevant local board. This is a rough area, not your precise location.
- A rolling "last seen" time. Each visit updates a single timestamp used to detect inactive accounts, nothing else.
- Basic connection data. Standard, short-lived records the service needs to stay up and to limit abuse. These are not tied to a profile.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own use.
- No cookies. Preferences you set (language, auto-delete, hide-read-status) are stored on your own device and never leave it.
- No email address is required to use the board. We cannot email you unless you contact us.
- If the service ever offers paid placement or promotion, that is provided by us on the board itself and does not involve selling your personal data. Any change to this model will be reflected here.
Private messages
Private messages are kept only as long as needed to deliver them, and expire automatically — when they are read or after they age out. You can wipe all your private conversations at any time from Settings → Delete all private messages; this removes them for you and for the peers you were talking to.
Retention & automatic cleanup
A periodic automatic maintenance run keeps the board fresh and limits how long data lives, without you having to ask:
- Older advertisements are removed automatically over time.
- Very active cities keep their boards current by retiring the oldest posts.
- Accounts that stop being used are removed — along with their posts, chats, and uploaded photos.
Service providers
To stay online we rely on third-party infrastructure (hosting, content delivery and security, and a location lookup). These providers may see network metadata as part of delivering the service; none of them is given a copy of your messages to mine, and we do not hand your personal data to third parties for their own use.
Your rights
Because the board is anonymous, the simplest way to exercise most rights is in-app: delete your own advertisement (offered once your city is at its posting cap; in smaller cities inactivity cleanup still removes it over time), wipe your private messages, or just stop using the site — inactivity cleanup will remove your data automatically over time. To request deletion ahead of that, or a copy of anything we hold tied to you, write to [email protected] and describe what to remove. We can only act on data that is actually attributable to you; anonymous posts with no contact details may simply be reported for removal.
Security
Traffic to the site is encrypted in transit, and we take reasonable measures to reduce abuse. No system is perfectly secure; we keep collection minimal precisely so that a breach has as little to expose as possible.
Children
GayBoard is an adults-only service. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor's data was submitted, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
